The Ministry of National Education reacted, this Saturday, May 3, in the tragic accident that occurred 10 km from Vélingara involving a bus transporting students from CEM Saré Coly Sallé. The drama, which occurred as part of an educational outing to a farm in Saré Thialy, caused the death of two people – a student and the driver – and made several seriously injured.
According to the official press release, the bus violently encountered a truck. Thirty-five students, accompanied by a teacher, participated in this visit as part of the professional training and integration project (PFPI).
In response, state services – notably Tambacounda academy inspections, medical and educational of Vélingara – have been mobilized to ensure the care of the wounded, transported to the health structures of Vélingara, Kolda and Tambacounda.
The ministry expresses its “deep compassion” to affected families and the educational community. He announced the personal follow -up of the file by the Minister himself and the establishment of an investigation to shed light on the exact circumstances of this accident.
