In Senegal, hotel establishments continue to be the target of attacks by bands of increasingly daring criminals. In fact, yet another burglary was recorded last night, around 2 am, at the Le Pélican du Saloum hotel, belonging to the Business Man Racine Sy.
According to echoes, fourteen heavily armed individuals broke into the establishment. Upon their arrival, they neutralized the vigils by tinkering them, before seizing a safe containing a sum of 5 million CFA francs. The newspaper specifies that the attackers were well organized and acted in record time, escaping any arrest.
As a reminder, hotels in Senegal have recently become privileged targets for criminal bands. The echoes had already reported the recent attacks perpetrated against the Rio Baobab hotel, then against the hotel “Les Manguiers de Guéréo”, illustrating a disturbing security trend. This new robbery thus puts back on the table the throbbing question of security in tourist establishments in the country.
