On the occasion of the Labor Day, the streets of Casablanca welcomed thousands of workers on Thursday, this Thursday mobilized around strong claims, at the top of which appear to improve purchasing power and the realization of social justice.

The main trade union centers, including UMT, UGTM, CDT, UNTM and FDT, have called for wage increases in the public and private sectors, a revaluation of pensions and family allowances, as well as urgent measures to deal with prices. They also denounced the effects of speculation and monopolies on the daily lives of citizens.

The unions have reaffirmed their commitment to a fair and sustainable retirement system, while highlighting their desire to defend the rights of workers, preserve social achievements and promote a model of development based on equity and shared prosperity.

In addition, the demonstrators welcomed the kingdom’s diplomatic advances in terms of territorial integrity, in particular the international recognition of the Moroccanity of the Sahara. They also expressed their solidarity with the Palestinian people and their right to establish an independent state with Al-Quds as capital.
