US President Donald Trump announced this social network this Thursday evening, having appointed Mike Waltz United States Ambassador to the United Nations (UN). In this reorganization of members close to the Trump administration, the appointment of Waltz shows the degree of confidence he enjoys with the tenant of the White House.
Mike Waltz, who became the American ambassador accredited to the United Nations, was previously adviser to the national security president, a strategic position which experienced, in two mandates of the Trump presidency, many changes.
“Mike Waltz worked hard to prioritize the interests of our nation. I know he will do the same in his new functions ”, said the American president.
The choice of Waltz in this strategic position should create unpublished upheavals and energize several files in which the United States is involved, like that of the Moroccan Sahara, which should experience new positive developments.
It is in any case the table which seems to be emerging, according to the recent events that marked the file internationally. Indeed, the Trump administration reiterated its support for Moroccan sovereignty on the Sahara, and a meeting between the Minister of Foreign Affairs Nasser Bourita and Mike Waltz stressed the will of the two countries to strengthen their strategic partnership.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs did not give more details on the content of their exchanges, however, the meeting with the national security adviser of President Trump intervened as part of an American tour of Nasser Bourita, during which he met key figures in the American political landscape having already shown their pro-Moroccan position.
Bourita had also met Marco Rubio, American secretary of state, who has “Reiterated that the United States recognizes Moroccan sovereignty over Western Sahara and support the proposal for serious, credible and realistic autonomy of Morocco as the only basis for a just and lasting solution to the dispute”.
“The United States continues to believe that a real autonomy under Moroccan sovereignty is the only possible solution”he said.
It is also Rubio who will ensure the role of interim national security advisor. The latter had expressed the will of Washington to “Advance common priorities in the region” And reaffirmed, alongside the Head of Moroccan diplomacy, the solid partnership between the United States and Morocco to promote peace and security, under the direction of President Trump and King Mohammed VI.
