GERS
After the screening week led from March 31 to April 4, which allowed 189 Gersoises aged 50 to 74 to benefit from an exam, the mammobile resumes his tour in the department on Monday. From May 19 to 23, 2025, five new municipalities will host this mobile mammography unit, thus offering a new opportunity to the women concerned to make a screening near their home.
The “Mammobile” project is the fruit of a partnership between several health players: the departmental health center of Gers, the Occitanie Regional Health Insurance Caisse, the French Mutuality, the Mutualité Sociale Agricole (MSA), the Cancer League and the Regional Coordination Centers for Cancers. Pooled with the Association Ariège Prévention Mobile, this system is part of a prevention and access process facilitated to screening breast cancer throughout the territory.
Since the start of the campaign launched in November 2024, 750 mammograms have been produced. Faced with the success of this initiative, the GERS Departmental Council has perpetuated this system for the period 2025-2030 as part of a multi-year partnership with the Association Ariège Prévention Mobile. In 2025, the mobile mammography unit will work from March to July included and from September to December.

- Thursday 22/05 in Lombez: 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. / 2:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m., Gendarmerie parking-Route de Toulouse
- Friday 23/05 in Gimont: 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. / 2:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m., 23, bd du Nord (parvis room Dubarry)
Accessible free of charge, this screening is reserved for women aged 50 to 74 who have not done mammography in the last two years. During their visit, they will benefit from a double examination: mammography and breast palpation.
