The production of Krapp’s Last Tape by Samuel Beckett marks a homecoming for the star of The Dark Knight, who began his acting career in the theater in Thark, from Ben Travers, in 1979.
The 67 -year -old actor alone assures the staging, the scenography and the interpretation of this existential monologue in an act, which tells the story of a grumpy writer who sits, as he does every year, the day of his 69th anniversary to record everything that happened in the last twelve months. But as he listens to the voices of his contemporary young people, a feeling of nostalgia and regret settles in him.

Whatsonstage described its performance as “meticulous and detailed”, while the Guardian was delighted with a “striking play” and the Financial Times estimated that “Gary Oldman brings a skilful humor and hypnotic tranquility to Krapp’s Last Tape”.
The actor, anicarized in 2018 for his interpretation of Sir Winston Churchill in the Darkest Hour drama, had a long and colorful career on the big screen.
He is particularly recognizable with the general public thanks to his roles of Sid Vicious in Sid and Nancy, and Sirius Black in the Harry Potter saga.
He is currently playing Jackson Lamb in the successful television series of Apple Slow Horses.
