The Ministry of Communication, Telecommunications and Digital, in collaboration with the Development and Supervisory Agency for Small and Medium -sized Enterprises (Adepme), today launched the first batch of financing program (PRF) of press companies.
This system aims to support the media faced with economic difficulties through structuring support, intended to strengthen their viability and support their lasting recovery. At the end of the last committee, twelve press companies were selected to benefit from this support. Each of them will receive a subsidy equivalent to 75 % of its eligible budget, or 24 million FCFA, out of a total of 32 million FCFA. The total amount mobilized in this first phase amounts to 384 million FCFA, including 288 million supported by the Adepm.
The beneficiary structures are: Média du Sud, Raceco, Groupexenos group, Group E Média, Média Group, Sud Communications group, Almadies Média, 3M universal (7TV), Leral group, Pressafrik, Lamp Fall TV and Origines SA. To this list is added Africome, which had already benefited from support last October up to 31 million FCFA on an overall budget of 41 million.
This program is part of a dynamic of modernization of the Senegalese media landscape, with particular attention paid to the diversity of beneficiaries and the representativeness of genres in the sector.
