A major medical advance has just marked the health sector in Morocco and Africa. Dr. Alae Mrani Zentar, radiologist and expert in interventional radiology within Oncorad Group, successfully produced the very first cryoablation in Morocco and North Africa. This historic intervention took place within Littoral Clinic Ain Diab, the historic establishment of the ONCORAD Group network.

Cryoablation is an interventional radiology technique which consists in freezing and destroying tumor lesions using extreme cold. Using fine cryuilles inserted under imaging guidance (scanner or ultrasound), an “ice ball” is created around the tumor, causing its progressive destruction. This mini-invasive approach offers a safe alternative to conventional surgery, with less pain, faster recovery and better respect for healthy fabrics.
