Within the framework of its institutional contribution to the promotion of the culture of parity and equality in the audiovisual media, the High Audiovisual Communication Authority -Haca- launched on April 29, 2025, a video awareness capsule entitled “Representation of women in information in Morocco, challenges of citizen equality and democratic inclusion”.
This video oriented towards the social, cultural and democratic challenges of the just representation of women in information was presented during a reflection workshop organized on this occasion by the regulatory body.
Thanks to the participation of members of the Higher Council for Audiovisual Communication, the President of the thematic working group on equality and parity within the House of Representatives, a representative of the National Council for Human Rights, a representative of the Ministry of Solidarity, Social Integration and the Family, journalists, editorial officials of radio and private Moroccan and private televisions as well as many actors in civil society and Digital experts, the theme of the representation of women in information was discussed in several perspectives.

The meeting thus made it possible to exchange in a concrete and collaborative way on the factors contributing to the under-representation and the unhewed representation of women in information while identifying some levers of action in favor of more balanced, more inclusive and more sensitive information to the values of diversity.
Starting from the postulate that information is an essential resource for the proper functioning of democracy, the various contributors to the moderate debate by the director general of HACA, Mr. Benaissa Asloun, also stressed the essential nature of a media representation of women which are both fair and ethical, to develop mentalities and the perception of social norms and promote collective appropriation of significant reforms That of the family code in which Morocco is engaged.
During the workshop, Ms. Latifa Akharbach, President of HACA presented the results of the studies carried out by the HACA as part of the World Media Monitoring Project as well as many significant observations on the representation of women in audiovisual information and press photo
She also pointed out that the launch of this awareness video capsule which will be disseminated mainly on social networks, comes to extend its strengthening efforts, within Moroccan society, the culture of media regulation based on human rights.
