In the defendant box, two Romanians aged 35 and 45, are tried for a flight of copper cables on the night of April 30, in a SNCF building in Nîmes.

Around midnight, they then decide to steal cables from the SNCF via an already holes. But they will be challenged in stride by the bin police.

One was prohibited from French territory

These facts, both recognize them. Except that what challenges the president of the court is that this offense is far from being the only one that appears on the locker of the two individuals. Flight by break -in, flight in meeting, aggravated flight, the list is long. “You commit crimes on crimes, it starts to pose difficulty”he underlines. Especially since the 45 -year -old man had prohibited the French territory since an expulsion order from the Prefect of Gard dated June 2021.

Sentenced to 12 and 18 months in prison

“I regret. If you give me a last chance, I give my word that I would never come back to France”he assures. The court sentenced them to twelve and eighteen months in prison with a deposit warrant, the confiscation of the car, and the obligation to settle the € 8,000 in material damage to the company OC’VIA MAINTENANCE, with which the theft was committed. They also have a final ban on French territory. In the meantime, they are taken to the Nîmes prison to purge their sentence.
