In Nîmes, the violently ransacked feminist exhibition “Benzine Cyprine”

Plazed, uprooted and torn photo prints, faces of tagged women, photos on land, phallus painted in large format on the walls of the gallery. In Nîmes, the last exhibition organized at the Negpos art and photography center was vandalized with fierce on the night of April 25 to 26. The exhibition entitled “Benzine Cyprine”, by Kamille Levêque Jégo, whose opening took place on April 11, was almost entirely destroyed. Of the 40 photos presented, 90 % were damaged.

A week after the facts where, for the purposes of the investigation, the vandalized premises remained as it is, the director and founder of the place Patrice Loubon does not hide his dismay: “For more than twenty years that I have organized exhibitions here, I have never attended that. I see the gesture of masculinists who want to mark their territory. They want to show that men have been there. »»
