The market gardening company Les Jardins de Lévis can push a sigh of relief. The City of Lévis “temporarily suspends” the procedure requiring the dismantling of housing dedicated to foreign workers located in the agricultural building of the company.
The Gardens of Lévis had five weeks to comply with their building to the plans for which the construction permits were granted to the former owner fifteen years ago. The latter should have stuck to an agricultural building, but there was still a accommodation without the city being aware.
Less than a particular situation, especially security
the city of Lévis has decided to put the process on a break.
New information having been brought to [la] awareness
of the city, in particular in connection with bill 86
push her to proceed to an analysis in order to see, if necessary, to revise the process
said spokesperson Michel Thisdel by email.
The Law aimed at ensuring the sustainability of agricultural territory and its vitalityfrom Bill 86, was adopted in March by the National Assembly.
We will maintain our exchanges in the coming weeks and months with owners on the effects of this new legislation on this file
