The Montreal Canadian goalkeeper Jacob Fowler won the Mike Richter trophy on Friday, which was given to the best American university row.

In 35 games this season with Boston College, in the NCAA, Fowler has shown a 25-7-2 file, with an average of goals allocated of 1.63 and an efficiency rate of, 940.

He is the second goalkeeper in the history of Boston College to get his hands on this honor, after Thatcher Demko, now with the Vancouver Canucks in 2015-2016.

Fowler should see action with the Laval Rocket, in the American League, by the end of the campaign.

Another Canadian goalkeeper, Cayden Primeau, won the Trophy in 2018-2019, when he wore the colors of the Northeastern University.

Winnipeg Connor Hellebuyck’s Winnipeg Guardian was the first recipient of this trophy in 2013-2014. Boston’s Bruins goalkeeper Jeremy Swayman also won this honor in 2019-2020.

The Quebecer Devon Levi, who is in the organization of the Buffalo sabers, is the only goalkeeper to have got hold of this trophy twice, in 2021-2022 and 2022-2023.

Last year, Kyle McClellan won the trophy with the University of Wisconsin. He has never been drafted by a team from the National Hockey League and keeps goals for the Heartlanders of Iowa this season in the ECHL.
