Serious accident on the night of Thursday to Friday in Marin-Epagnier (NE). This after a chase committed by the Bernese cantonal police to find a biker on the run with his passenger, the public prosecutor of the Bernese-Seeland jura and the Bernese cantonal police announced on Saturday. The two fugitives were seriously injured.

The driver had been spotted in Bienne shortly before 2:20 am, transporting two other people on his vehicle to the Faubourg du Lac. When a patrol wanted to stop the biker using the “Stop Police” display, he accelerated and fled. The police then immediately hunted it, blue lights on.

The biker first stopped briefly at a roundabout to let go of a passenger, who fled on foot. Then he turned around to borrow the A5 motorway towards Neuchâtel. He then lost control of his machine at the exit of sailor and ended up falling. Both the driver and his passenger were seriously injured in the accident. An ambulance and a regau’s helicopter took care of them after first aid on the spot.

During the prosecution, several traffic offenses, including speeding, were noted, the police raised. The first investigations also indicate that the motorcycle had been stolen shortly before the facts. As for the 3rd passenger of the motorcycle which had fled on foot, it has not yet been found.
