
Accident on the slopes –Two skiers seriously injured in Zermatt
On Wednesday, a Swedish and an Italian collided in the Haut-Valais ski area. Police appeal to witnesses.

Serious accident this Wednesday shortly before noon on the ski area of Zermatt. While going down the Matterhorn Glacier Paradise, a black track, a 37-year-old Swedish and a 57-year-old Italian “collided on the right side of the track, before leaving it in their fall,” reports The Valais cantonal police This Friday.
Both were seriously injured. In addition to the cantonal police, the OCVS144 and the Zermatt track rescue service, the air-glacier and air helicopters had to intervene in order to provide them with care, and then transport them to the hospitals of Visp and Sion.
The public prosecutor has opened an instruction. In this context, the police are calling for witnesses. Anyone who can provide information on this accident is requested to come to the law enforcement center at 027 326 56 56.
