Microsoft has never tried so much to seduce Europe. For years, the multinational has been trying to play “the nice American tech giant” on the continent, ensuring respecting the privacy of users, committing to their cybersecurity and working for the common good. In appearance, Microsoft has everything of the ideal son -in -law or a good student, with a director who never makes waves – who knows, outside the world of tech, the name of Satya Nadella? -, little data related to data and no public affects with Donald Trump. In short, we are the opposite of an Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg or Jeff Bezos.

It is with this strategy and its office services that Microsoft has conquered so many companies, public administrations and individuals. Switzerland, like all European countries, has become dependent on its services, including the Microsoft 365 suite. And today, the group based in Redmond is said that there is a new opportunity to seize. This Wednesday, during a visit to Brussels, its president, Brad Smith, was extraordinarily offensive. With words that assimilate a warrior vocabulary. “Our support for Europe has always been-and will remain-unshakable,” he said, saying that he wanted to commit to “ensuring the digital stability of Europe”.
