“Rape” case at the Akhlou Rahmane Institute in Tivaouane Peulh

The alleged rape affair at the Akhlou Rahmane Islamic Institute in Tivaouane Peulh, who had broken out in 2023, is experiencing a new twist. Ah. Daffé, brother of the owner of the Daara and teacher of French, was arrested while trying to return to Senegal after a run in the Gambia. Offering yesterday before the Dakar prosecution, he is accused of attempted rape, sexual assault and modesty on a young resident of 14 years.

The case dates back to 2023, when mb. A. Gaye, a 14 -year -old teenager, is entrusted by her uncle to the Institute to learn the Koran. According to her testimony, she underwent repeated sexual assaults from two teachers: El. K. Daffé, the Koranic master, and her brother Ah. Daffé, in charge of French lessons.

The victim reported that the first would have raped her twice, while the second would have tried to attack her one night by ties up his hands.

Terrified, she had fled from daara to tears before complaining. An investigation had then been opened, leading to the arrest and incarceration of EL. K. Daffé. His brother, on the other hand, fled to the Gambia, thus escaping from the Senegalese authorities.

After several months of run, ah. Daffé was arrested at the Karang border post as he tried to return discreetly to Senegal. Placed in police custody, he denied the accusations, recognizing, however, that he had introduced himself into the dormitory of the girls on the night of the facts. According to him, he was simply looking for a mattress and would have moved the sleeping girl to recover one.

He claims that the victim, awakened with a start, would have confused her attacker with her brother, whom she was particularly feared. Despite his denials, the prosecution decided to indict him, justice now having to decide on his guilt.

This new development revives questions on the conditions for protecting children in Koranic schools, while several similar cases have hit the headlines in recent years. Families and defenders of the rights of minors demand a stricter supervision of religious internships to avoid such dramas.

The legal procedure continues, and the prosecution should soon announce the consequences reserved for this case, reports the sun.
