“The US government has informed by letter, to our country, that it will end, in three months, to the financing of MCC Power Compact projects”Announced Mr. Diop to APS and RTS.
“The United States has indicated that it will end any funding for MCC Power Compact after the next three months. The Senegalese authorities have decided […] to continue this program with their own funds, until its completion“He said.
This program had a duration of six years, of which only year and a half left when the US government announced the suspension of its participation in its funding last February. Its budget is 550 million US dollars, around 316 billion CFA francs.
The 500 million (approximately 287 billion CFA francs) are provided by the government of the United States of America, within the framework of its Public Development Aid policy, the remaining (around 28.7 billion CFA francs) being the responsibility of the State of Senegal.
The MCC Power Compact is implemented by MCA Senegal, an administrative autonomy created in 2020 and placed under the technical supervision of the General Secretariat of the Senegalese presidency.

The MCC Power Compact, whose execution time is five years, is funded by the Millennium Challenge Corporation of the United States Government.
This electrification program has been implemented in Senegal since 2024. It is intended to increase the production of electrical energy in the country and to increase the number of Senegalese having access to electricity.
