The Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations (CDC) and the Morocco Deposit and Management Fund (CDG) want to intensify their cooperation in order to strengthen their financial means. This ambition was said yesterday on the sidelines of a 72 -hour visit to Dakar, the CDG director general, Khalid Safir.
Under an enlightened sky, the fresh wind, accentuated by the navy breeze, blows on the udders and its surroundings. On the site of the old airport track, the different plots are highlighted and identifiable thanks to white terminals. The streets and roads are already traced. In dark costume, Khalid Safir, director general of the Morocco Caisse de Dépôt and Management Caisse (CDG), travels this output horizon. This visit to this 30 hectare site is a stage of his stay in Dakar, which goes from May 1 to 3. A similar project exists in Morocco where the old track of an airport has been valued in a real estate project. Given the relations between Senegal and Morocco and similar missions between the Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations (CDC) and the CDG, the intensification of the partnership is a year after the signing of a memorandum of understanding, according to Mr. Safir. “We have taken stock of the progress of the memorandum of understanding that has been binding us for over a year. This, in order to identify the possibilities of cooperation between the two funds in terms of projects, sites that we can lead or carry out together, bilateral partnership based on friendly and fraternal relations between our two countries, “he said.
The director general of the CDG said he was impressed by the sites that push and transform the face of the Senegalese capital. “Our meeting was an opportunity to visit a number of projects and projects from the Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations. I am impressed by the number of sites that I saw on the whole road. It is a city under construction, which is indicative of the dynamism of the economy, ”added Mr. Safir. The director general of the CDC of Senegal, Fadilou Keïta, said that increased cooperation between these sisters institutions will allow the two countries an optimal exploitation of their potential. “We have had an agreement for a year. Now, we explore avenues of collaboration, but above all we are thinking about the implementation of the national transformation agenda “Senegal 2050”, the projects on which we could position ourselves as sisters’ institutions. Deposits and consignments are known in the world. The CDG, for example, has 60 years of existence. That of Senegal will soon celebrate its 18th birthday. So we have a lot to learn, ”said Keïta. He added that the partnership in sight makes it possible to capitalize on a lot of areas. “In Morocco, everything that is done in investment, real estate, financing, is done almost with the CDG. Today, by signing an agreement with this cash register, we allow our group to capitalize on new experiences. We discuss major issues of financing our savings and above all to make them credible vehicles for our indebted countries. These are important niches for financial mobilization, “said the CDC CEO.
