The State of Senegal officially sent a formal notice to the Jeune Afrique magazine, confirmed HABIBOU DIA, director of communication of the Ministry of Communication, denouncing the dissemination of information deemed to be false on alleged terrorist threats targeting the country.
According to him, this media outing is part of a particular context, where several sensitive files are underway, in particular internal tensions at the Court of Auditors on the eve of the publication of the report on the management of public finances, as well as unfounded rumors around the massive dismissal of civil servants by the new regime. He specifies that the report established by the Senegalese authorities aims to document and denounce this disinformation campaign, which could serve as a foundation for firmer measures against the Pan -African media.
For the State, these assertions constitute not only an attack on national stability, but also an attempt to manipulate public opinion, when the country strives to restore transparent and peaceful governance.
