Following the circulation of information reporting on the death of a student in a chamber of the university campus, the center of university works in Dakar (COUD) wanted to provide details through an official press release published this Thursday.
According to the Coud, no student’s death was recorded in the social campuses placed under its management. The press release specifies that the student concerned, Sadiala Mballo, registered at Cheikh Anta Diop University in Dakar (UCAD), unfortunately died at her home in Ouakam, and not on the university campus as some media have suggested.
Faced with what he describes as “false information”, the COUD invites the press bodies having relayed this erroneous data to carry out an immediate rectification, in order to preserve the truth and to avoid any confusion within the university community.
This exit from the COUD highlights the importance of rigorous and verified information, particularly with regard to sensitive subjects affecting students.
