During the night of April 12 to 13, 2025, an attempted robbery targeted the Touba Gaz factory, located in Touba. According to initial information, a dozen individuals armed with hunting rifles have stormed the premises around 2 am.
The attackers entered the offices of the factory and tried to rob a safe containing, according to managers, an estimated sum at ninety-four million (94,000,000) of CFA francs. They had managed to attach the trunk aboard one of the service vehicles when they were surprised by a patrol of the Touba’s surveillance and intervention squadron, alerted in time.
An exchange of shots followed, forcing the criminals to retreat without taking the trunk or any other good value. Traces of blood raised on their flight route suggest that some of them were injured during the intervention.
“No injuries were recorded on the side of the police”, reassured a security source. An investigation was immediately opened to identify and challenge the authors of this attack.
