The hearings of the Court of Appeal will begin on June 2 in a Parisian court and will continue until June 6, specifies a French lawyer following the file and cited on the platform X. Saad Lamjarred should therefore return to the court. Its complainant, Laura Prioul, should mark his presence the audiences. Each of them should bring new elements in this file.
In February 2023, the Paris Assize Court sentenced Lamjarred to a sentence of six years in prison for rape aggravated as part of this case dating back to 2016. On April 20, 2023, he was released from prison after having benefited from provisional freedom.

-Artistically, accusations of rape and sexual assault cost the singer dearly. In 2020, a concert planned in Cairo had to be canceled at the last minute following boycott calls from certain Egyptians on social networks. In 2024, the number of views of his songs on the YouTube platform recorded a disturbing drop. In a post on social networks, Lamjarred explained that the drop in the number of readings of his songs was due to the restrictions imposed, by YouTube, in particular by preventing certain forms of advertising so that his works do not reach the public because of the rape affair.

Last February, civil society organizations criticized the delivery by the association Les Imperiales du Prix “Love Brand 2025” awarded to Saad, still because of the same case. Faced with these protests, the association had to withdraw from its platforms the promotion of this price.
