The implementation of the University Hospital Center (CHU) of Euromed University in Fez today has taken a decisive step in its realization. Following an open national competition, its architectural realization is entrusted to the group of architects “Architecture workshop El Ouali and Hajji and Associates”, recognized for its expertise through the design of large hospital establishments such as the CHU Mohammed VI of Tangier and the Center Hospitalier regional Kénitra.
The Euromed de Fez CHU will be located on a plot of almost 30 hectares. This future hospital establishment, designed from the outset according to the model of “smart hospital”, will call on the best national and international experts and will have a very high level infrastructure and the most advanced technologies, including artificial intelligence, connected objects, big data, real-time data analysis, robotics and cobotics (human-machine interaction). These new technologies will be at the heart of clinical processes and hospital management. In addition, digital training, simulation and international scientific collaboration platforms will support teaching and research activities. Agreements with the best international CHUs will complement the training of our future students and doctors.
The first phase of the project provides for the commissioning of 350 beds, thus marking a significant advance in the expansion of the care offer at the regional level with also a certain number of new specialties compared to the existing both on a regional and national scale.
The CHU of the University of Euromed of Fès will work in synergy with the Hassan II CHU of Fez and will be intended to respond to three major strategic missions: to ensure the initial and continuous training of high -level skills in health disciplines, to create a tertiary care offer in complementarity with existing structures, in particular the HASSAN II of Fez, and to promote the development of research and innovation both Curative level.
The medical project has been developed in close consultation with the Ministry of Health, by aligning international standards for medical technologies and respect for ecological standards. From its opening, the establishment will deploy the essential clinical services to accommodate the first students in health sciences (medicine, dental medicine, pharmacy, nursing sciences and biomedical engineering and biotechnology) with specialties in medicine, surgery, gynecology-obstetrics, medical and surgical emergencies, as well as advanced infrastructures, biology and functional explorations …
Several poles of excellence have been defined to meet the priority needs of the country and the region. In particular, it will be personalized medicine and precision, the management of emerging diseases, medicine and restorative surgery, oncohematology, sports medicine, legal medicine and criminology, heavy trauma through a trauma center, the organization of specialized units for burn Heart, interventional cardiology, robotic surgery and mini-invasive, and radiological and endoscopic interventions. The integration of artificial intelligence in diagnostics and treatments will also constitute a strong axis of differentiation and innovation.
The EUROMED CHU of Fez is a national structuring project, at the interface of health, higher education, scientific research and technological innovation, in line with the great ambitions of the Kingdom.
