A resolution, obtained by The presswas adopted in this sense on Saturday morning by the Federation of Omnipractian doctors of Quebec (FMOQ).
“Our 150 representatives do not have the impression that the government is very keen to find solutions to improve access to the health service to the population,” denounces the public affairs advisor to the FMOQ Stéphane Gosselin. “They have the impression that they are rather undergoing a government which seeks to save money, even on the back of health. »»
In the center of this rejection, fundamental disagreements. Quebec offers a new patient classification according to a color system. Healthy patients would be classified green or yellow while those who experience more severe, orange or red health problems.
The FMOQ fears that with this system, the patients whose rating is green or yellow have no more doctor of the official family.
“As a consolation price, you would keep a collective registration for the clinic, but you would no longer have a family doctor. The problem is that there are people who have a green side, and who the next day can go red. This is not a solution, doctors will never embark in there. »»

Quebec wants a quarter of the doctors’ remuneration to be linked to the achievement of performance indicators, such as the management of vulnerable patients and the presence in CHSLD.

The Federation also wishes to adopt a work table on the equity of remuneration between men and women. An iniquity reigns, even if the two sexes receive the same remuneration for the act.
“What has been observed is that women do not practice in the same way as men, which impacts their remuneration at the end of the year,” notes Mr. Gosselin.
More than half of omnipractian doctors in Quebec are women.
