The Gustave Roussy cancer center will raise awareness of defense passers -by on Tuesday.
Each year, more than 15,000 French people learn that they are suffering from ENT cancer (Oto-Rhino-Larynge). A worrying figure, especially since these diseases are often diagnosed too late. However, detected in time, eight out of ten patients could be healed.
To alert the general public, the ENT / head and neck committee of the Gustave Roussy Institute is organizing, this Tuesday, May 6, an information day on the forecourt of Defense, at the foot of the Grande Arche. From 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., visitors will be able to meet specialists and learn about the signs that must alert: persistent wrapping, canker sores that do not heal, difficulty swallowing …
During this day, exchanges with experts from Gustave Roussy, advice for early screening, as well as explanations on medical advances in the management of these pathologies will be offered.
This event is part of the Rouge-Gorge national campaign, which aims to make these discreet but formidable cancers better known.
