“The use of mosquito nets for fragile people is an effective way to protect yourself from mosquitoes that transmit chikungunya and avoid complications due to the disease.”, Recalls the ARS.
A total of 25 PMI centers spread over the entire island will participate in this initiative. Mosquito nets are also returned to the exit of maternities for infants, as well as to the elderly through the support and home care devices.

According to Public Santé France, between April 21 and 27, 2025 (week 17), 23,302 City medicine consultations were recorded for clinically compatible cases with chikungunya, bringing the total to 160,475 since the start of the year.
In addition, 332 emergency passes were identified during this same week, contributing to a cumulation of 2,139 passages since January. The number of hospitalizations amounts to 302, and nine deaths have been confirmed in connection with the virus, mainly in people over the age of 70 with comorbidities.
