After raising awareness among the presidents of the generation clubs movement 34 and signed a partnership agreement with Michèle Girard, their president, France Alzheimer Hérault held a conference this Friday April 11 at the Club Les Chênes Verts de Maurin. Dr. Martine Siffert (infectiologist, volunteer and former caregiver) and Gérard Despess (president) informed club members on Alzheimer’s disease. This is how the appearance and development of the disease were mentioned, its gradual damage to the various executive functions, a point on the current state of research and the role and attitudes to be adopted by caregivers in the face of situations linked to the cognitive decline generated by the disease. This was an opportunity to present the association’s missions and support activities to patients in order to slow the evolution of the disease, to build the conditions for a new life course by relying on the preserved achievements and finally to underline the importance of the role of the caregiver and the need for it to be accompanied as soon as the diagnosis was announced and throughout the disease.

At the end of this conference, it was on behalf of the club that Claude Bouygues gave a support check to the France Alzheimer Hérault association.
