In a new study devoted to affairs to probity, the ministerial statistical service of domestic security classifies Reunion in the top 5 of the departments plagued by fraud and deception
934 offenses in evidence of probity were noted in France in 2024, 8% more than in 2023. These crimes which bring together corruption, illegal interest, favoritism or diversion of public funds were compiled in the annual report of the French Agency Anti -Corruption publishes its annual report. Reunion as Mayotte are among the bad students.
With 198 offenses noted in 2024, Reunion is the 5th department in number of offense after Paris, Bouches-du-Rhône, Seine-Saint-Denis and Var.
Compared to the number of inhabitants, the offense rate is 2 per 100,000 inhabitants. This places the meeting behind Corsica, and other overseas territories such as Guadeloupe, Polynesia and Mayotte which have twice as important rates.
Overall, the five overseas departments and regions ranked among the bad students since they count between 2.5 and 5.5 offenses per year on average for 100,000 inhabitants when the national average is 1.1.
A third of the offenses concern corruption, before the embezzlement of public funds and illegal interests of interest. Favoritism, concealment and influence traffic are also referenced.
The vast majority of them in terms of providing for probity are natural persons, two thirds of men, for half aged over 45.
