Discover this hiking trail connecting six chapels to Couttsey, Matawinie, in the Lanaudière region

For the past few weeks, my partner and I had already planned to go, on Sunday of Easter, at the Marian Center Marie-Reine-des-Cœurs in Coutsesey, in Lanaudière.

At the start, it was to draw pascale water, but we had to be changed, because there was frost, spring is always a little later in the region than in town.

On the other hand, the pedestrian path connecting six Catholic chapels, of which five former, was well cleared and in good condition.

Most visitors go there to pray or to make a pilgrimage. Some faithful also go there with a healing objective for themselves or for a loved one.

Miraculous healings have already taken place, according to several believers. One of my friends who knows the region abounds in the same sense well, he who is not practicing in addition to being interested in science and history.

I myself surprised myself to fill a container of holy water in the Notre-Dame chapel of the presentation where the masses are celebrated …

Near the shop of religious objects is a picnic area. It is a few steps from the small Notre-Dame de Bethlehem chapel where you can make a short stop.

From there, we take a path along Lake Beaulne which leads to a small converted cave housing a statue of the Virgin Mary. Returning to our steps, we go back to the pedestrian path which gradually goes up.

We entered each of the old chapels, well preserved and different from each other by their stained glass or by their modest pace. The fervor of the faithful is seen by their wishes and prayers, left on a table or an altar.

The card

By the way, to sit down easily, do not miss a look at the map displayed on small rudimentary panels at intersections of trails. Good hike on the path of peace!
