Canada won the honors of the World Championship under 18 2025 from IIHF to Frisco, Texas, thanks to a brilliant 7-0 victory against Sweden in the Grand Final. This dominant performance allowed Canadians to get their hands on the gold medal for a second year in a row.
In this ultimate match, Canada directed 42 shots to the opposing net, against 28 for the Swedes. Xavier Villeneuve de l’Armada de Blainville-Boisbriand scored the first goal of the match. The defender collected 4 goals and 4 aids in 7 games during the tournament.
The defender of the Saguenéens of Chicoutimi, Alex Huang, also contributed to the offensive by collecting a mention of aid on the seventh goal of his family. Huang completed the tournament with a sheet of 4 aids in 7 games.
-The Baie-Comeau Drakkar goalkeeper Lucas Beckman was also part of the team. Beckman was solid when he left, on April 25 against Latvia, blocking 16 of the 17 shots directed towards him to lead Canada to victory. He finished the tournament with an excellent efficiency rate of 0.941.
Also note the presence of Mathieu Turcotte, head coach of the Armada de Blainville-Boisbriand, who was one of the coaches of the Canadian team.
