According to the police, this year, the annual event must bring together 300 members of the Hells Angels from all over Quebec, moreover in Canada, moreover worldwide, and members of their school and subordinate clubs.
In recent years, this first motorcycle rally of the year has taken place at the premises of the Hells Angels in the South section, on the 4the North row.
The police know the premises well and install dams on all the carrosable roads giving access to it, to intercept each biker, investigate him, inspect his motorcycle, give him a ticket in the event of non-compliance, and finally, photograph it, to update their intelligence albums.
However, Friday, in the middle of the afternoon, three processions of several bikers each presented themselves at the same time, but by three different paths, including a road closed to traffic, probably in order to confuse the police.
Investigators therefore had to leave their facilities in the race to be able to intercept some of the bikers and do their work.

75 police officers
About 75 police officers from the Sûreté du Québec (SQ), the Royal Canada Gendarmerie (RCMP), the Montreal City Police Service (SPVM), the Laval Police Service (SPL), the Longueuil agglomeration police (SPAL), the Roussillon police, the Richelieu-Saint-Laurent police. (SPVQ) and the Trois-Rivières police service took part in this management operation.
The SQ also called on one of its helicopters who flew over the sector.
Members of the five sections of the Hells Angels of Quebec and about fifteen sections from all over Canada, even from British Columbia, were observed by the police, in addition to the members of around thirty school clubs or supporters such as the Montreal Marauders, the Patriot Riders, the Satans Crew, the Eviles, the Dark Souls and the Gitans.
The police also observed the colors of a new group, the Red Tails Québec, and found that one of their members is Dany Sprances Cadet, formerly of the Montreal Syndicate and ex-lieutenant of the deceased gang Gregory Woolley.
A member of the marauders was arrested for possession of a prohibited weapon – which was not a firearm – and was released on promise.
The police handed over 340 tickets for non-compliance with motorcycles and other offenses.
A reader, resident of Saint-Charles-sur-Richelieu who requested anonymity, wrote to The press To complain about the fact that around 60 bikers formed in procession would have rolled much faster than the limit of 50 km/h in the rue de l’Union, in the heart of the municipality, “at 3 pm, while schoolchildren are back home”. “Some neighbors came out outside, stunned from the situation. In short, unacceptable, “he added.
Show of strength
The Hells Angels would take advantage of this event to underline the 40e Anniversary of the Sherbrooke section (1984) and the natural death last December of one of their members, Jean-Paul Ramsay.
But the police see this year the presence of a very high number of sections and subordinate groups, as if the Hells Angels wanted to demonstrate a force.
For more than a year, the hegemony of Hells Angels-still considered by the police as the most important criminal organization in Quebec-has been challenged by independent gangs or traffickers in many regions of the province, especially in the Capitale-Nationale, in Beauce, on the North Shore, in Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean and in Mauricie.
On Tuesday, one of their members, the president of the Niagara section, Craig Mcilquham, 55, was killed by Burlington, Ontario.
