Damote Trump: a third try?

Damote Trump: a third try?
Damote Trump: a third try?

Trump’s initiatives and insane comments clearly show that it is more and more extremely dangerous, not only for Americans, but for the whole planet. What to do?

There is only one “democratic” way to get rid of it: a third impeachment to hunt it from power.

Donald Trump is the third president against which a dismissal procedure was undertaken without success. And the first to get away with it twice.

During his first presidency, he was acquitted that he wanted to trap Ukrainian President Zelensky in a machination to accuse Joe Biden of Corruption and to have prompted the insurrection against the Capitol in January 2021.

To achieve this, Democrats must regain control of the congress in the mid-term elections of 2026. But, even there, he is highly improbable, unless Trump completely loses the pedals, that he can be dismissed. It would indeed take a majority of two thirds in the Senate.

Charges against Trump

Nevertheless, support for the dismissal procedure could still constitute an important issue in the elections of next year. Besides, an elected Michigan Democrat, Shri Thanedar, recently presented a series of charges that should be retained against Trump.

Thanedar accuses him of having exceeded his presidential skills by ordering illegal evictions, not complying with judicial decisions and abusing powers of the Ministry of Justice.

He also criticizes Trump for abusing his powers by imposing customs duties prejudicial to the American economy and threatening to invasion and annexation of sovereign countries, including Canada.

He also denounces it for having implicated the freedom of expression protected by the Constitution, taking reprisals against criticism, media and universities.

Finally, the creation by his henchman, Elon Musk, of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) would violate the Constitution.

The leadership of the Democratic Party, which had not authorized Thanedar to act, is a little taken aback by its initiative.

The arguments in favor of a third dismissal procedure are convincing. Politically, it is in the interest of Democrats to keep Trump responsible for these acts, even if he ends up escaping any conviction. The Trump team would also take the threat seriously to the point of already preparing to face it.

Trump, a repeat criminal

On May 30, 2024, Trump was found guilty of 34 charges for falsification of commercial documents. The conviction scheduled for September 18 was postponed to November 26, 2024. On January 10, 2025, Trump, now president, received an unconditional release of his sentence. He is the first president of the United States to have been found guilty of serious crimes. He forever defiles the presidential function.

The new pressures in favor of his dismissal underline the deep political divisions of the country and the Democratic Party. A party that struggles to recover from his defeat for which he is largely responsible for not having got rid of the pathetic Joe Biden in a timely manner.
