A 38 -year -old woman died in Greece in the explosion of a bomb on Saturday morning.

She was unfavorably known to justice for flight affairs. It is for this reason that this 38 -year -old woman is suspected today of having wanted to commit a new robbery. This Saturday morning, in the center of Thessaloniki, in Greece, a bomb she was holding in her hands exploded. Seriously injured, she died in the hospital, reports the media “Kathimerini” in her English version.

The explosion occurred in a parking lot next to a banking branch, at the intersection of the Platonos and Agios Dimitiou streets, around 6 am, the website specifies. According to the first elements of the investigation, the victim may intend to deposit the bomb at an automatic distributor. But the machine exploded before it could part with it. The police would be in possession of audiovisual equipment corroborating this scenario.

A woman with a heavy legal past

If no one else has been injured in the incident, the powerful explosion caused significant parking, shops, residences and several vehicles nearby. The organized crime management is in charge of the investigation. The newspaper “Eléftheros týpos” evokes the possibility of a link between this woman and the attempt to attack in a courthouse in Thessaloniki. She would also have been arrested in 2021 with a man and accused of illegal possession of a weapon (she had a Kalashnikov in her backpack), drugs and concealment. Sky News indicates that it could be linked to an extreme left group.
