Intel Refine its new generation processors with two performance presets for its Core Ultra 200s “Arrow Lake” range. Called “Intel Performance Optimizations” (IPO) and “200s Boost”, these profiles allow more power of high -end fleas.

According to the first independent benchmarks around an ultra 7 265K core, it is IPO which takes the advantage, with concrete gains in several recent games.

IPO Vs 200S Boost

The tests carried out with a GeForce RTX 5090D and the DDR5-8000 memory (or DDR5-8400 with IPO) show that IPO optimization offers better overall performance. For example, in Forza Horizon 5the average framerate reaches 274 FPS with IPO, against 269 FPS with the classic Boost mode. Gains become more marked in demanding games like Cyberpunk 2077 (+3 % on average) or Total War: Warhammer III (+6 % on average). It’s in Counter-Strike 2tested in 1080p, that the differences are the most spectacular: +16 % average and +20 % on the lowest FPS with IPO .. even Watch Dogs: Legion Take advantage of a +8 %gain.

The difference between the two profiles comes from the optimization strategy. The 200s Boost mode focuses on internal processor interconnections, notably increasing the frequencies of Die-to-Die tissues and a core. IPO, for its part, more finely adjusts all the components: P and E hearts, annular bus, memory frequency and interconnections. Result: better performance stability, including the lowest FPS, often critical for the gaming experience.

For the moment, IPO is only available in China, but these results suggest real potential. Intel has not yet confirmed a global deployment.
