During the first wave of coronavirus, the long queues in front of the food distribution centers had marked the spirits. Three years later, the Geneva people voted in favor of the registration of the right to food in their constitution, guaranteeing everyone to have access to “adequate food” and to be “hungry”, while inspiring the rest of the country and Europe.
While a law of application is being developed, a concrete project of implementation already takes shape in the canton. Six organizations, including the movement for peasant and citizen agriculture, the Vergers food industry and the Fian Switzerland association, presented their unique Food Fund Cash initiative (Calim), on April 27 at the caves market.
