After his election to the Neuchâtel State Council at the end of March, the environmentalist Céline Vara spent a family vacation in a luxury hotel by the sea. Blick’s article set fire to the powder by revealing that the hotel in question is 9 hours by plane from Switzerland, Oman, oil producing countries and little inclined to respect human rights.

For young green ones, on the other hand, these criticisms are only an attempt at diversion from Céline Vara’s political adversaries. “This kind of discussion and debate cut us from real challenges and our real action,” said the president of the young Neuchâtelois, Victor Tschopp.
He believes that the State Councilor’s holidays are a private affair that he does not have to comment. “It doesn’t look at me,” he said.
