Switzerland shone for its penultimate preparation match in the world championship. Patrick Fischer’s troop crushed Finland 8-2 on Saturday in Brno as part of the Euro Hockey Tour.
Beaten 2-1 by Sweden Thursday evening in Kloten, Switzerland was able to count on a Grégory Hofmann on fire to make the difference. The Bernese Jurassic was the author of a hat -trick to score precious points with a view to a place in the selection for the World Cup which will start on Friday in Herning in Denmark.
The duo Sven Andrighetto/Denis Malgin, associated with Damien Riat in the first offensive triplet, also showed all its importance. Credited by an assist on the 1-1 of Andrea Glauser (9th), Andrighetto thus scored a capital goal in numerical superiority, 4-2, in the 30th minute.
A second third of dreams
-The Swiss team, which defeated Finland three times in their last five duels, put a big pressure on Saturday: it caded no less than 17 shots during the first third. Led 2-1 after the Zurich Lions striker Juha Lammikko had inherited a puck lost in the blue line to go and deceive Sandro Aeschlimann (16th), she did not have time to doubt.
