The city of Joliette is pleased to announce that it will be beneficiary of a subsidy of $ 150,000 granted by the Blue Jays Foundation in Toronto (Jays Care Foundation), intended to upgrade a baseball field located in the Saint-Jean-Baptiste sector.
The total project, evaluated at $ 205,000, corresponds essentially to the addition of a field net, replacing a bulle stop and the complete redevelopment of the game diamond. These interventions, provided this year, will significantly improve the experience of players, but also will widen the age categories that will now be able to take advantage of the site, and this, in complete safety!
Among the 14 communities supported by the initiative in 2025, Joliette stands out as the only way in Quebec. “For lovers of this sport, including the Lanaudière-Nord club, and the nearby localities, the addition of the blue jay on the infrastructure will embody the importance of continuing its dreams, moving and deploying its wings! On behalf of these many enthusiasts and the municipal administration, I would like to express our sincere thanks to the Foundation for this real circuit made in Joliette, “said the mayor, Pierre-Luc Bellerose.
-If all these improvements are planned for land in the Saint-Jean-Baptiste sector, it should be noted that the second play space, located nearby, will also benefit from certain interventions. Finally, it should be mentioned that this upgrade will not result in any interruption of the activities scheduled soon on the baseball facilities of the city of Joliette.
