The man who fell from the top of a 21 -foot wall on the PNC Park warning track during a match between Pittsburgh Pirates and Chicago Cubs on Wednesday evening is awakened and alert.
The organizer of a page GoFundMe For Kavan Markwood, the 20-year-old young man who slipped from a balustrade and found himself on the field during the seventh round of Pittsburgh’s 4-3 victory on Cubs, Markwood was said on Saturday.
According to Jennifer Phillips, who organizes fundraising, Markwood has made significant progress since he was admitted to the trauma center of the General Hospital of Allegheny on Wednesday in critical condition.
“After all that he has gone through since the accident on Wednesday evening, this progress is simply miraculous,” wrote Ms. Phillips, who has already taught in Markwood. He still has a long road in front of him, but today he brought a moment of hope to which we all hung on. ”
Phillips added that Markwood can speak and encouraged others to support him during his “next recovery phase”.
The pirates conducted an internal investigation into the incident, notably by questioning supporters and analyzing the credit card receipts.
Markwood attended the match with three other people according to the team. The credit card receipts indicate that one of the members of the group legally bought seven alcoholic drinks during the match.
Brian Warecki, club vice-president of the club, said the investigation concluded that Markwood had not bought alcohol, but that he had consumed two beers during the match.
The team said they received contradictory testimonies from the supporters who were sitting near Markwood in the section above the wall Clemente.
A supporter told the team that Markwood seemed to be in a state of drunkenness. Others said that he had done nothing in particular until he got up to celebrate a double of Andrew McCutchen. Markwood then risen suddenly from his seat towards the balustrade in front of him before switching over it.
