Ziguinchor, Sédhiou, Kolda… The rainy season shows its first signs in the south of Senegal. According to the latest anacim forecasts, precipitation is expected in these regions during the night of Saturday May 4 to Sunday 5, 2025. In the center of the country, the sky will remain loaded, with low chances of localized rain.
While the heat gradually becomes suffocating in certain areas of the interior (up to 45 ° C announced in Koungheul), the inhabitants of the South can expect night showers. According to the National Agency for Civil Aviation and Meteorology (Anacim), Casamance – in particular the regions of Ziguinchor, Sédhiou and Kolda – will be the most concerned by this return of rains, under the effect of load -bearing clouds that will cross the area in the night.
In the center, notably in Thiès, Kaolack, Kaffrine, Fatick and Diourbel, the inhabitants will also have to look up to the sky. Dense clouds are expected from the evening, with a risk of fine rain in places. However, Anacim specifies that the probabilities of precipitation remain low in these localities.
Elsewhere, the sky will remain mainly cloudy, without notable consequences. Regarding temperatures, Saturday is particularly hot inside the country, especially in the east and the center. Mercury could climb up to 45 ° C in Koungheul, while Dakar will benefit from a clearly softer climate with temperatures below 28 ° C.
