Death Angel reveals Wrath (Bring Fire)his first unpublished song for six years, an intense title inspired by the pandemic, the medieval series and the personal anger of singer Mark Osegueda.

A fiery return with a piece born in the turmoil

The cult group of Thrash Metal of the Bay Area, Death Angel, made a remarkable return with Wrath (Bring Fire)his first new song since the release of his album Humanicide In 2019, appointed to the Grammy Awards. This explosive title is accompanied by an animated video produced by Tamara Lienas (Aimed & Framed).

In a press release, singer Mark Osegueda returns in detail to the origin of this piece, written during the pandemic: “I wrote the lyrics and the melody in January 2021. Like everyone, I was locked up, lost, angry and confused. I was watching television much more than usual, especially medieval and fantastic series, which contributed to the atmosphere of the song.”

He continues: “This title is a meeting between a medieval apocalyptic war universe and my very real way of managing conflicts … Sometimes in a violent way when I feel betrayed or abused. And unfortunately, it still happens to me today.”

The singer concludes with a quote from Al Capone to express the rage at the origin of the song: “Do not take my kindness for weakness. I am nice to everyone. But when someone is mean to me, it’s not my weakness that they remember. When I show myself … I set fire!”

The guitarist Rob Cavestany said working on seven new songs, while drummer Will Carroll recently said that the ideas were numerous and that “things were advancing at a very productive rate”.

The latest studio disc of the group, Humanicidewas released in May 2019 via Nuclear Blast. While waiting for a new full album, Wrath (Bring Fire) testifies to the intact intensity of Death Angel and his taste for cathartic fury.
