Ozzy Osbourne confirmed that he would do everything possible to honor his last concert scheduled for this summer, while admitting that he may be sitting “during his performance. Despite persistent health problems, the metal icon is intensity for this ultimate public appearance.
“I will do my best” : Ozzy Osbourne is preparing for his latest concert
On July 5, 2025, Ozzy OSBOURNE will bow out during the event Back To The Beginningat Villa Park (Birmingham), with a concert bringing together the final classical training in Black Sabbath. It will be the first time since 2005 that the singer will share the scene with Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward. At 76, Ozzy recognizes the limits imposed by Parkinson’s disease and the consequences of its many operations: “I will be there, and I will do my best. The least I can do is be present”he told The Guardian.
Physically weakened but still determined, he trains daily: two three -minute steps, bodybuilding, and vocal coaching sessions four times a week. He explains: “I stayed lying for so long… it’s like starting all over again.” However, he adds with lucidity: “I am used to doing two hours on stage, running everywhere… This time, I will not do a lot of jumps or races. I may be seated.”
A symbolic concert, between legends and tributes
This farewell concert will not be a traditional show but a collective celebration. Each artist or group will play some songs, as Ozzy said: “We will only play a few songs each. It will be an overview, a sample.” In addition to Metallica, Slayer, Pantera, Tool or Halestorm, a great musicians training will pay tribute to Ozzy and Black Sabbath, with among others Slash, Duff McKagan, Fred Durst, KK Downing, Jake E. Lee, Billy Corgan, Wolfgang Van Halen and Tom Morello.
Extravagant rumors mentioned with humor by Zakk Wylde let Ozzy imagine on a floating throne. If this incredible scenario seems unlikely, it is confirmed that a throne adapted to its condition will be used to allow “Prince of Darkness” to deliver its last performance in the best possible conditions.
-More recently, Sharon Osbourne revealed to The Guardian That Steven Tyler (Aerosmith) and members of Soundgarden had been added to the poster, further expanding the specter of this celebration of rock and metal.
A last farewell, between emotion and determination
For Ozzy, this concert is a “final point”. He no longer provides any tour or other representation after this date. Sharon said: “He never had the chance to say goodbye to his fans. This concert is his farewell.” The benefits of the event will be donated to several charities: Cure Parkinson’s, the Birmingham Children’s Hospital and the Acorn Children’s Hospice.
Despite the events, Ozzy remains animated by a desire to leave a last imprint on stage: “I can’t walk, but I’m still alive. I complain, but I look around and I see people who have not been lucky.”
In a previous article, it had been specified that he would sing five solo pieces during this concert. A performance certainly limited, but deeply symbolic for a whole generation of fans.
On July 5, 2025, Ozzy Osbourne will say goodbye to the scene and his fans, surrounded by those who accompanied him, inspired or admired. A final reverence at the height of a monument in the history of metal.
