Technical control of two-wheelers crystallizes tensions. Whether for bikers or controllers. A year ago, mobilizations and actions had multiplied in the department. Twelve months later, nothing has changed. Admittedly, the actions have decreased, the subject is less in the spotlight, but the tension is still lively.

As proof, a control center contacted did not wish to respond. He was the victim of the biker sling several times, who came to tag the building. At the end of the line, the person did not want to envenue things.

“We continue the boycott”

On the front line of the protest last year, the French Federation of Engine Bikers from Vienne. Its coordinator, Manuel Repentin, remains upwind against the reform. “We continue the boycott, he explains. We are not going to have our vehicle checked, it is useless. For our part, we organize many days on the theme of security. I have been the desire to remove the subsidies. It is still a paradox. We are removed from this money but we continue the technical control which has no interest. »»

Assumes the tags and other protest actions: “It is to show that we are still there, to reaffirm our opposition to the text. We will continue to organize “I control my motorcycle” type actions. That is to say that we give our motorcycle to someone so that they can inspect them. Like that, she is controlled, there is no more worries. »»

The protest is therefore still lively among the users, even if the technical control centers of the department are generally satisfied. “It’s going very well for us, Confirms Nicolas Daudon, manager of the Norisko Beaulieu center in Poitiers. It must be said that our customers come from their own free will, so there is no problem. There were doubts about the requests for bikers. In the end, we make rather good figures, concordant with the national average. »»

“There will always be reluctant but they are in the minority”

According to figures from the Interior Ministry released in 2024, just over 620,000 motorcycles had been checked. At this time, more than 80 % of eligible motorcycles had not passed technical control.

“We are working pretty well, explains Agnes Melin, from the Saint-Martin-la-Pallu dekra center. There will always be reluctant but they are in the minority. Most of the time, checks go very well. Bikers are people who pay much more attention to their vehicle than others. »»

Not all Vienna centers offer to control two-wheelers. Last year, we asked two centers what they thought about it. At the time, they told us their reluctance. So we contacted them to take stock and their opinion has not changed.

“We knew that we were soon retired, We are explained to the dekra of Saint-Benoît. It was complicated to get started in it. And then, we have no room to carry out these motorcycle controls. »»

In Norisko de Châtellerault, the problem is mainly financial. “It’s a certain price. For training already, it’s € 500 per controller. We had looked at the equipment, it was minimum € 10,000. There were already three centers that offer it in Châtellerault. It was complicated, we weren’t sure we had customers. So we decided not to do it. »»

A year later, the technical control of two-wheelers has not finished talking.
