The Saudi authorities began to apprehend and sanction offenders with regulations relating to the obtaining of the HAJJ license, as well as people facilitating unauthorized pilgrimage, the Saudi Interior Ministry announced.

A fine of 20,000 Rials (5,300 dollars) will be imposed on anyone who accomplishes or tries to complete the Hajj without a license, as well as the holders of a visitor visa trying to enter or stay in Mecca and in the holy places without authorization, the ministry said in a statement.

Sanctions also apply to anyone hosting or trying to accommodate people who have accomplished or trying to perform the Hajj without having the required permit, or who provides them with any assistance allowing them to stay in Mecca or in the Holy Places, we continue.

Furthermore, the ministry noted that the sanctions include the expulsion of individuals who infiltrate to accomplish the rites of the Hajj, whether resident or not, to their countries, their ban on entering Saudi Arabia for 10 years and the confiscation of any land transportation used to transport visitor visa holders who plan to accomplish the rites of the hajj.

The Saudi Transport Authority, for its part, urged all the transporters of the country to refrain, until June 10, to transport passengers going to Mecca or to the holy places without a Hajj permit, work or valid residence in the holy city, in order to guarantee the fluidity of the movements of pilgrims and preserve their security during the period of Hajj.
