A blood donation campaign was launched on Friday in Sefrou, in order to strengthen stocks in this vital matter.
This initiative, organized by the association “Basma Cancer” in partnership with the provincial delegation of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection, the municipality of Sefrou and the regional blood transfusion center of Fez, aims to help people with cancer whose treatment regularly requires significant quantities of blood.
The first day of this campaign, which continues until May 4 under the sign “your blood is a life for others”, recorded an important participation with nearly 120 donors.
-In a statement to the MAP, the president of the Basma Cancer association, Najia Lahmidi praised the commitment of citizens of different ages during this first day, stressing the momentum of solidarity aroused by this action of solidarity.
She said that the association mobilized in coordination with its partners a medical and nurse team to supervise this operation, in strict compliance with health security conditions, highlighting the human scope of this initiative, intended to support cancer patients, in particular those under chemotherapy treatment.
She added that this campaign also aims to strengthen the culture of voluntary and regular donation within the population of Sefrou, recalling that this civic gesture makes it possible to save the lives of thousands of patients each year.
