

Richard Duke Buchan III was appointed to occupy the post of United States Ambassador to the Kingdom of Morocco, according to an official report to the US Senate foreign relations committee.
Former ambassador to Spain and Andorra from 2017 to 2021, Mr. Buchan recently carried out the functions of national finance president of the National Republican Committee. An experienced businessman, he is the founder and CEO of Hunter Global Investors LP, an investment company established in 2001 in New York and today based in Florida.

With more than forty years of international experience in more than 50 countries, including Morocco, Mr. Buchan is also very involved in educational and philanthropic initiatives.
-His previous diplomatic journey, combined with his commitment to the economic and social fields, is considered an important asset for this strategic position.
Originally from North Carolina, he continues to manage family agricultural land in this state as well as in New York, where he notably cultivates truffles, old vegetables and pupils horses.
Married and father of three children, all scouts Aigles, Mr. Buchan graduated in economics and Spanish from the University of North Carolina, and holder of an MBA of the Harvard Business School. He speaks commonly Spanish, has French skills and masters several other European languages.
