Thanks to the wisdom and clairvoyance of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, the Moroccanity of the Sahara knows growing international support, said the president of the Andean parliament, Gustavo Pacheco Villar.
In an interview with the MAP on the sidelines of the 3rd International Forum of Young Socialist and Socio-Democrats, which is held on May 2 and 3 in Marrakech, Mr. Pacheco Villar stressed that the clairvoyance of the sovereign’s vision is manifested in particular through the support of great world powers such as the United States of America, France and Spain, to the sovereignty of Morocco on its Sahara.
In this regard, he also noted the growing support of the countries of Latin America to the position of the Kingdom, while reiterating the support of the Andean Parliament to the territorial integrity and the sovereignty of Morocco in its South provinces.
At the same time, he highlighted the impressive progress and dynamics of development that these provinces know.
“I visited the provinces of the south of the kingdom and I was impressed by the development projects carried out or launched in the different cities,” said the president of the Andean Parliament, citing in particular the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy of Laâyoune and the Atlantic Dakhla port.
In this regard, he highlighted the Atlantic Royal Initiative to open up new perspectives to Sahelo-Saharan countries and to stimulate a sustainable regional economic dynamic, as well as the Nigeria-Maroc gas pipeline, noting that these innovative initiatives make the kingdom a major player in terms of consolidation and promotion of South-South cooperation.
-The active presence of Morocco in Africa and its various actions and initiatives in favor of the continent countries also reflect the unwavering commitment of the Kingdom for sustainable cooperation, he said.
Referring to the various reforms made in the kingdom under the enlightened leadership of SM the King, Mr. Pacheco Villar considered that Morocco has crossed major stages on the path of the consolidation of the rule of law, in particular thanks to the adoption of the 2011 Constitution and the promotion of the situation of women.
Regarding the 3rd International Forum of Young Socialist and Socio-Democrats, the president of the Andean Parliament noted that this is a suitable space to share ideas, proposals and experiences in order to explore the possibilities of building a better future.
“Young people are the present and the future and their voices must be heard. We cannot imagine a future without the contribution of young people,” he insisted.
The Andean Parliament was instituted on October 25, 1979 as an organ representing the peoples of the five Andean countries, namely Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Chile.
This Parliament aims to harmonize legislation, strengthen cooperation between parliaments of member states, support participatory democracy and consolidate the regional integration process.
