The Provincial Brigade of the Judicial Police of the City of Béni Mellal opened a judicial investigation, under the supervision of the competent prosecution, in the early hours of Wednesday, April 30, 2025, in order to determine all the circumstances surrounding an incident during which three individuals, in a state of manifest, threatened a police officer out of service and seized his personal vehicle, inside which was his service.
According to the elements collected at this stage of the investigation, the policeman, although out of service, intervened to put an end to a night altercation between several people. He would then have returned to his home to recover his professional equipment, including his handcuffs, in order to challenge the suspects. However, one of the individuals brandished a stabbing weapon and has taken hold of his vehicle, containing all of his service equipment, including a firearm, before fleeing accompanied by two accomplices.
Research and investigations carried out as well as intensive rating operations has enabled the arrest of three alleged suspects involved in these criminal acts, as well as the recovery of firearm and ammunition. Two sophors of service cartridges, which would have been used in still indeterminate circumstances, were also found; Ballistic analyzes are currently underway to determine their origin and conditions of use.
The suspects were placed in police custody as part of the judicial investigation carried out under the supervision of the competent prosecution. All people with a proven link with this case are also heard in order to shed light on the facts, their motivations as well as the circumstances that surround them.
