Najat Mokhtar-Aguenaou, the Moroccan researcher, was awarded for her exceptional scientific journey and her commitment to the promotion of the science and the empowerment of women in the Arab world.
It is the first woman to occupy the position of deputy director general and head of the Department of Sciences and Nuclear Applications at the International Atomic Energy Agency since January 1, 2019.
She managed to sign a beautiful Moroccan success story in the mysteries of UN institutions. This native of Taounate managed, thanks to his strong will, to build a scientific and academic career which propelled her towards high -ranking international functions. Beginning his academic career at Mohammed V University in Rabat, Najat will then go to France to win a doctorate in food science at the University of Dijon, before obtaining a doctorate in nutrition and endocrinology at the University of Laval in Canada, and to follow postdoctoral training at Johns Hopkins University, in the United States.
